Whats going on?

January 12, 2007

I have been doing some research into cyber begging. I am amazed that there are so many people trying to get money for ridiculous things such as breast augmentation and Imac computers. Where do these people come from? Do they really believe that they are in need? What happened to being ok with what you have. They have suffered nothing and need even less. In fact most of them don’t even update their sites to let their contributors know how much they have raised! Even more amazing is that they are actually paying to have their sites listed. Now I may not be thinking correctly, but wouldn’t it make more sense to pay the site once you have actually collected money, or by a percentage of what is donated? The way it is setup now these sites are running like a business, with out any accountability. Have we really come to the point that we just don’t care about people in real need?

Having sais that, I have decided that begging in any form, while attractive, is not the option for me. I can not in good conscience spend money that should be used to pay my own bills. I am continuing to seek out a solution and will be here every day to update as to what is happening. I filed an complain t with the FTC last night and have recieved confirmation of recieved email from a state representative. I am looking for help, not a handout. I have always tried to take care of myself and will continue to do so. We have an income and a desire to make things better. We may have suffered a set back, but who hasn’t. A situation will avail itself to us that will make a difference.
